Hello, Ziskind...ites? I'm an incoming first-year, and according to the smithies08 extension post, I will be in Ziskind in the fall. My extension is 4893...does anyone know if that is definitely Ziskind?

It does look about right for a Ziskind number, but I have to admit I'm not sure.
Welcome to Smith! You won't be meeting me there, I graduated in '07, but I lived in Ziskind for 3 years. Got any questions about life at Smith in general, life in Ziskind in particular, or about particular majors?

Thank you! Did you move to Ziskind from another house? I was at first opposed to living there because I preferred a house with more history, but now I think I wouldn't mind.

Yes, I lived in Capen my first year. Capen is probably one of the most physically beautiful houses on campus, but I found that the personalities there are pretty ugly (or were, my first year). As a lot of my friends were in Ziskind, I moved.
As for history, the Box has plenty. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Also, Ziskindites make up for their ugly surroundings by being awesome people and having a neat community.
Be nice to the HP (Hi Martha!) because then she'll reach things down for you from high shelves.

I just got my housing assignment, so I officially don't belong in this community. (I'm in Sessions Annex.) But thanks for answering my questions. :D

Hi! I'm Martha, Ziskind's House President. x4893 definitely looks like a Ziskind extension, but I don't see it on my roster from previous years...but it could just be a missing number. Or you could be in another house. Extensions starting with the number 4 are often repaired lines, so it's kind of a toss up. If you're in Ziskind, welcome!
I'm going to echo the above 07's (hi Hope!) offer to answer any questions that you have about the house or Smith in general. Best way to reach me is either here or email: mwoerner at smith dot edu
